WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a boost to specific stats. Each upgrade boosts the Best item upgrader level by +3. A random additional substat is also boosted alongside each upgrade.

The more modernized gear generally has a more value in trade as long as it meets low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or has a high stat variation (like the eth titan weapons). Upgrades are less valuable for those with lower requirements due to the requirement to roll the perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear by offering the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of weapon or armor. The item upgrader mod used to upgrade the Item level upgrade is discarded and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be applied to the enchantments.

The upgrader is located in every major city, and is accessible at any time to upgrade your equipment. To keep your gear up-to-date it is recommended you visit the upgrader every several weeks.

The cost of upgrades will vary based on the current item level of the gear being upgraded, but will always be less expensive than purchasing new gear from other sources. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest to ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. A similar item will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used for weapons, armor, tools, and accessory upgrades. They can be purchased from item upgraders NPCs in a variety of currencies. They can also find them on random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be used on any tool, weapon, or armor. The button will show the item's next upgrade level in the event that there are enough materials.

Upgrade costs differ based on the item slot, and the current item level. For example weapons cost more than gloves, bracers or bracers. Each step costs 15 Flightstones and a variety of crests, with some upgrades having a discount to reduce the cost of the Flightstones or the crests used. After an item has been upgraded to a certain level it can be re-downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower price.

Many locations offer item upgraders, including the main Island and some outposts. The NPCs provide an upgrade discount as well as a chance to get a brand new upgrade recipe. The discount for upgrading increases when more items are upgraded. It can be increased by having players finish certain achievements or quests.

The use of these currencies isn't too complicated however, the system introduces some changes to the overall upgrade process. For example, once an item is at the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic) it will no longer require Flightstones to be upgraded. This change allows players to upgrade their equipment to the highest possible ilvl on all of their characters, instead of relying on seasonal loot.

Another significant modification is that crests have one usage and it's crucial to use them wisely. It is recommended to use your Whelpling-rank crests on the highest-quality gear that you can find and keep Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next set of upgrades. This is especially relevant for rings and trinkets that fill multiple slots on the character which will only be able to take advantage of the account-wide discount when all of the slots are full of high-quality gear.
